Concept:  Inspired Learning Model™

The philosophy I work under is called The Inspired Learning Model™.  This is a learning model that promotes an environment in which we do not teach but encourage the learner’s innate desire for knowledge.  There is an emphasis placed on the concept of “What You Focus on Expands” in that you highlight what is showing up vs. what isn’t.  The Facilitator holds the space of permission, acceptance and possibility by upholding agreed-upon guidelines of conduct called The Standards of Presence™.

In translating this concept to the world of parenting, I bring this style of learning to the concept of discipline in our families.  Each of us defines discipline differently, reflecting our own individual family ideals and beliefs.  This workshop enables parents to move from an environment which often involves power struggles and distress for both the parents and children, to one of learning, consistency and positive regard.

As the workshop highlights the idea that “what you focus on expands”, parents will learn how to sincerely acknowledge their children’s actions and attitudes and release the need to correct undesired behavior with negativity.

Parents in the From Discipline to Learning Workshop will work to:

• Clearly understand their unique definition of discipline
• Personalize the components of discipline, reflecting their family values and beliefs
• Learn to translate discipline into learning in a way that feels respectful and honoring for all family members
• Experience the Inspired Learning Model first hand and enjoy the ease of learning in a non-judgmental, accepting and positive environment
• Use “Homeplay” as a way to bring this philosophy home and begin using and sharing it with their family
